Everyone-
It has been a while since our last conference call, so we wanted
to take the opportunity to give everyone an update on the preparations
being made for the upcoming race season.
We are pleased to announce that Richmond Gage has agreed to take
the position of Race Director for the series. Richmond has a lot
of experience in the motorsports industry and in race management.
He is currently the director of motorsports education at Rowan
Community College. In addition, he has served as a race official
in numerous series including the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series,
the Legend cars and more. The remaining officiating positions
are being finalized as well. This group that is being assembled
will allow us to deliver fair and consistent race management that
will include the comprehensive technical inspection at each event.
We are excited about the level of professionalism and expertise
that the new officiating team will bring to our series.
We have also made arrangements with Jenn Claussner to manage the
“CarolinasMidgetSeries.com” website. Jenn is working
on updating the information on the website and will keep the site
current with news and results. We will have the ability to post
race and weather updates in a timely manner. We would like the
website to be a reliable source of communication for our series,
teams and fans. If there are any suggestions about information
that you would like to include in the website, please send us
your comments.
We are also working on finalizing the remaining “TBD”
dates. We have encountered a few schedule conflicts with the tracks
that had previously expressed interest in running our series.
We hope to have the final pieces finalized soon. We have been
asked to run with the former “Pro Cup” series when
they are in Hickory in July. Despite the fact that this race falls
on a weekend between the MidWeek Mayhem series at Concord, we
felt it would be a good opportunity to race in front of what should
be a big crowd. The date for additional Hickory race is Saturday
July 25, 2009.
Speaking of MidWeek Mayhem…………we are finalizing
the details for season number two at Concord. We are excited about
the summer series and are confident that we can build on the foundation
that was started during the inaugural season. We will have announcements
very soon about the support division, open practice dates, and
more. This information will also be posted on the website once
it is finalized.
Thanks to everyone for their patience and support. We are looking
forward to a great race season. With a number of new cars planning
to race this year and the return of the “regulars”,
we will have a strong series that will continue to get stronger.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Carolina Midget Series
opener at Hickory on April 18th.
Best regards,
NCM Partners
